A Home Game
Three years ago, TGJ Editor Tom Coyne bought a worn down nine-holer in the Catskills and got to work. Sullivan County Golf Club is now everything a small-town muni should be: quirky, fun, and built on community. And this August, that community will expand again to welcome 64 BTS members invited for unlimited golf in the mountains. Grab your half sets and join us for our third trip to A Course Called Home.
The Sullivan County Experience
8:00-9:30 AM: Breakfast & Check-In
Grab your gift bag and settle in with a bite to eat
9:30 AM: First Round
18 holes of two-person better ball to decide a spot in the BTS Club Championship
2:00 PM: Lunch
Sit down for lunch in the club’s new restaurant before an afternoon loop
3:00 PM: Second Round
Play 18 holes in a custom-routed par 3 shootout

How to Register
- You must be an active member to register for and attend Sullivan County event. Not yet a member? Join here.
- Members can place reservation requests from May 12 at 9 a.m. ET to May 18 at 9 a.m. ET.
- You may request up to 4 spots.
- Singles are encouraged to place reservation requests.
- Entries must be paid within 24 hours of receiving the notification email to avoid forfeiting your position in the event.
Noisy Time, Quiet Place
We live in a noisy world and golf has been particularly loud of late, but we didn’t hear much of that in Sullivan County.

How do I register?
Reservation requests open May 12 at 9:00 AM ET and close May 18 at 9:00 AM ET
Field selected by random drawing
- Must be a member and logged into golfersjournal.com
- Up to four spots per request
- 24 hours to complete payment if selected
- Not selected = automatic waitlist, no set order, spots filled at random

Who can attend?
- All guests must be active TGJ members
- Singles are welcome (~50% attend solo)
- All skill levels
- GHIN required for NET division
What should I know before I arrive?
- Sullivan County Golf Club
- 2514 NY-52, Liberty, NY 12754
- No Caddies
- Dress code: Public course but we like to dress like we are attending a private, no denim, no sandals, and no backward hats.
How is the event played?
- Two-person better ball
- Gross scores only via Golf Genius. Double-bogey max
- NET and Gross divisions, 1st-3rd
- Tees: Men’s / Senior 60+ / Women’s
- Winning teams will receive automatic qualification to the 2027 BTS Club Championship, the 2026 Club Championship will have already passed

What if I need to cancel?
If you need to cancel your spot, please email us at events@golfersjournal.com.
- Refunds will be issued only if your spot is filled by another participant.
- Once filled, refunds will be processed minus a 10% processing fee.
- Inside 30 days of the event, a 15% cancellation fee will apply to filled spots.
