We’re So Back

For the sixth time, the Broken Tee Society is heading back to central Wisconsin for a trip that’s become a rite of passage. Sand Valley has hosted hundreds of BTS members over the years, and the rhythm is well established: play every hole on property, then keep going after the sun goes down. This year’s return brings the full lineup—Sand Valley, Mammoth Dunes, The Lido, Sedge Valley, The Sandbox, and the debut of The Commons—along with night golf, hickories, private meals, and no reason to check the clock. We’ve raised the bar again with the best lodging on property, because if you’re going to play that much golf, you’ll want a soft landing at the end of the night. Some places are worth coming back to. This is one of them.

Trip Itinerary

Sunday, August 16

Sand Valley / Sedge Valley, The Commons & Night Golf

Arrive in central Wisconsin, check in, and settle into your room at Sand Valley Golf Resort. The trip begins with half the group playing Sand Valley and the other taking on Sedge Valley. Once our opening 18 is finished, we’ll get a first look at The Commons, Jim Craig’s new 12-hole short course modeled after the famed links of Prestwick and North Berwick. Dinner is a BBQ buffet paired with Glow-V1s on The Sandbox. The only way to end a marathon day is to keep playing even when the sun goes down.

Monday, August 17

The Lido / Mammoth Dunes & Hickories on Sand Valley

Our group splits for the day following breakfast at Aldo’s. Half will take on The Lido, the meticulously recreated Golden Age test, while the other half heads out to Mammoth Dunes for wide corridors and big swings. Everyone reconvenes in the afternoon for a 6-hole twilight loop of Sand Valley with hickories in hand. The day ends back at Aldo’s for a private dinner.

Tuesday, August 18

The Lido / Mammoth Dunes & The Sandbox

After breakfast we’ll get warmed up on The Sandbox. If you played The Lido on Monday, today belongs to Mammoth Dunes—and vice versa. Another full day of big golf followed by our last dinner at Aldo’s.

Wednesday, August 19

Sand Valley / Sedge Valley

For the final day, our groups from Sunday will switch. Half the crew plays Sand Valley, Coore & Crenshaw’s original vision for the property and the course that set everything in motion. The other heads to Sedge Valley for Tom Doak’s English heathland-inspired design. Once the final putts are holed, we’ll grab lunch at The Gallery and say a tough goodbye to a place that will soon feel like home.
