The Best of Ireland
The northwest corner of Ireland feels built for golf—untouched coastline, charming towns, and some of the finest links in the world. This July, we’ll travel from Sligo to Belfast, playing a lineup that includes County Sligo, Donegal, and the legendary Royal Portrush, with stops at Portstewart and Ardglass along the way.
It’s a route that blends golf history with real Irish life: mornings and afternoons on championship turf and evenings in seaside towns and pubs that have hosted players for generations. From Yeats country to the Causeway Coast, this trip captures what makes Ireland—and its golf—so special: world-class courses, good company, and days that feel like they could last forever.

Trip Itinerary
Monday, July 6
Arrival & Strandhill
Arrive in Dublin and transfer west to Sligo, a lively coastal town and our first stop. After check-in at The Glasshouse, we’ll shake off the travel with a round at Strandhill Golf Club, a hidden gem known for its dunes, sea views, and fun shotmaking. The evening is free to explore Sligo’s pubs and riverfront.
Tuesday, July 7
County Sligo
Our first full day takes us to County Sligo, one of Ireland’s great championship links and a regular stop for the Irish Open. Set on the Atlantic, it’s the perfect blend of scenery and test. We’ll return to town for another night in Sligo before heading north.
Wednesday, July 8
Donegal
We’ll make the short drive to Donegal, checking into The Central Hotel before playing Donegal Golf Club at Murvagh. Designed by Eddie Hackett and Pat Ruddy, the course combines links terrain with parkland features and wide Atlantic views. Dinner in Donegal rounds out the evening.
Thursday, July 9
Royal Portrush (Valley)
We’ll begin the day by crossing into Northern Ireland and settling into our new base in Portrush. Our first round here is on the Valley Course, part of the same property that hosts The Open, and a superb warm-up for what’s next. Take the evening to unwind in Portrush’s seaside town center.
Friday, July 10
Royal Portrush (Dunluce)
On Friday we take on the Dunluce Course, a Harry Colt masterpiece. It’s where Shane Lowry lifted the Claret Jug in 2019 and Scottie Scheffler followed suit in 2025—two unforgettable Open Championships that cemented Portrush’s place among golf’s elite venues. Every hole is world-class, from the clifftop views to the demanding finish, and every step feels like history in motion.
Saturday, July 11
Portstewart
A short drive brings us to Portstewart, with its famous opening hole that plays straight toward the sea. The Strand Course is dramatic from start to finish, with dunes that rival anything in Ireland. We’ll return to Portrush that evening for one last night along the coast.
Sunday, July 12
Ardglass
Our final round brings us east to Ardglass, where golf begins and ends beside a 15th-century castle clubhouse perched over the sea. After the round, we’ll continue on to Belfast for the final night of the trip at the historic Europa Hotel.
Monday, July 13
Departures
Departures from Belfast or Dublin. We’ll share a final coffee and pack our bags with new stories and a few courses we’ll never forget.
