Prairie Dunes sits on rumpled ground left behind by an ancient inland sea—perfect for the links golf dreamed up by Perry and Press Maxwell. It feels like Scotland, plays like nowhere else, and somehow lives in the middle of rural Kansas. This spring marks our fifth visit, but the first time we’re staying on with everything included, giving ourselves 54 holes, elevated meals, and no reason to rush anywhere. More golf, more wind, probably a few more balls sacrificed to the gunch, and even more memories.

Trip Itinerary
April 19
Arrival & First Loop
Arrive at Prairie Dunes and settle into your luxury on-site lodging before heading out for a practice round in the early afternoon. Staggered tee times off No. 1 from 12:30 to 2:00 PM ease everyone into the week, with plenty of daylight to get a feel for the fine work of Perry and Press Maxwell. Once we’re done with 18, we’ll gather in the clubhouse for a member-guest–style dinner. Afterward, have a drink in the club pub, relax by the fire, or get a game going on the Himalayan-style putting course that sits just steps from your bed.
April 20
36 at Prairie Dunes
The full Prairie Dunes experience begins with our morning tournament shotgun round. Two spots in the BTS Club Championship are on the line for the top gross and net finishers. Once the winners are settled, we’ll grab a casual lunch and head back out for 18 holes of casual free play. As the sun drops, the group reconvenes for cocktails and a chipping contest from the patio to the 18th green. The day ends with a gourmet dinner, awards ceremony, and a low-key night around the clubhouse and putting course.
April 21
Departure
A final morning on the property before departures. We’ll gather in the clubhouse for breakfast before saying a tough goodbye to a favorite stop on the BTS Tour.

- You must be an active Premium member to register for and attend the Prairie Dunes event. Not yet a member? Join here.
- Premium members can place reservation requests from January 20 at 9 a.m. ET to January 21 at 9 a.m. ET.
- You may request up to four spots.
- Singles are encouraged to place reservation requests.
- Entries must be paid within 24 hours of receiving the notification email to avoid forfeiting your position in the event.

Event Registration & Waitlist Policy
TGJ Premium member events have a limited number of spots. Here’s how registration works:
How to Request a Spot
• Reservation requests open at a set time and close at the deadline.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to select your party size and enter your details.
• You must be a Premium member and logged in to your golfersjournal.com account to submit a request.
Selection & Payment
• The field is chosen by random drawing. Selected members will be notified via email or text.
• If selected, you have 24 hours to complete registration and payment.
• Failure to pay will result in automatic forfeiture of your spot.
Automatic Waitlist
• All unselected members are automatically added to the waitlist—no extra steps are needed.
• If a spot opens, a new member will be randomly selected from the waitlist.
• There is no set order to the waitlist.
• Members who miss the initial registration window are welcome to join the waitlist at anytime prior to the event..
How will I be notified?
Winners will be notified by email & SMS (if BTS text message alerts are enabled).

How many spots can I purchase?
You may purchase up to four spots.
Do I have to stay on property?
Yes—and it’s required. All attendees must stay on property, which is why the event fee includes two nights’ accommodations at Prairie Dunes. This ensures a seamless experience and maximizes time together both on and off the course.
Are caddies available?
Caddies will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis, with ~4 available based on mid-April school schedules.
The event fee includes golf carts, but for those who prefer to walk, a limited number of push carts are available. Walking is encouraged for the full experience.
Does my guest have to be a member?
Yes, all guests must be active Premium TGJ members. The best way to bring a non-member guest is to gift them a Premium TGJ membership.
Can I attend as a single?
Yes, almost 50% of event attendees are singles. Bring a friend or come make some new ones. Otherwise, you will be paired with another BTS member at random.
Can I request to be paired with another twosome?
If you have another person or team you’d like to be grouped with, please submit the request on the Guest Details form on the Players Room following your purchase.
Are there handicap / skill requirements?
Players of all skillsets and handicaps are welcome to register. We only ask you are respectful, have fun and keep up with the group ahead of you.
There will be double-bogey max scoring in place.
We require a GHIN or other accredited handicap to participate in the NET division.
What is the nearest airport to Prairie Dunes?
The closest airport is Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport, located approximately 50 miles from the course.

What is the cancellation policy?
- If you need to cancel your spot, please email us at events@golfersjournal.com.
- Refunds will be processed minus a 5% processing fee, once the spot is filled.
- Within 30 days of the event, a 10% cancellation fee will apply to filled spots.
- Refunds inside 14 days are not guaranteed and are at the discretion of the club.
What is not included?
Airfare and transportation to/from the club as well as caddie fees and gratuity are not included in the price.
