There’s no better place to start the year. Palm trees and mountains frame the fairways, Tour pros chase birdies under a warm January sun, and the Broken Tee Society takes over one of golf’s great stages.
In 2026, The Monday Finish returns to La Quinta Resort & Club for a long weekend of world-class golf, luxury hospitality, and high-octane thrills. We’ll walk in the footsteps of the pros at PGA West, watch The American Express from a VIP suite on the 17th hole, play 18 between the palms of O’Donnell, and swap spikes for racing gloves at the BMW Performance School. From the Stadium Course’s infamous island green to precision putts and pedal-to-the-floor laps, this is a weekend where speed, sport, and camaraderie converge.

Saturday, January 24
Arrival, O’Donnell & Dinner
Check in at La Quinta Resort & Club, where whitewashed adobe walls and palm-lined courtyards have hosted legends for nearly a century. Early arrivers can catch the morning action at PGA West Stadium before our afternoon round: 18 holes of old school Palm Springs charm at O’Donnell Golf Club. As the sun fades beyond Mount San Jacinto, we’ll gather in the clubhouse for a welcome dinner full of fresh flavors, crisp air, and good company.
Sunday, January 25
BMW Experience & VIP Viewing
This morning, the desert turns into your racetrack. At the BMW Performance School in Thermal, you’ll slide behind the wheel of the BMW M340i and M240i for three adrenaline-pumping sessions: timed runs, lead follow laps on the large track, and head-to-head drag racing down the straightaway. Precision, speed, and nerves of steel all count. After the engines cool, we return to PGA West to catch Sunday’s finish of The American Express from the private Club Alcatraz suite.
Monday, January 26
The Stadium Course
Now it’s your turn. PGA West Stadium, with its pot bunkers and infamous 17th, hosts our final test. Your net score here combines with your fastest BMW lap time to determine the 2026 Monday Finish champion. After the last putts drop, we’ll gather for a post-round lunch, awards, and goodbyes before heading home—with one hand still itching for the wheel and the other reaching for the next tee.
BMW Driving Experience
At the BMW Performance School in Thermal, you’ll climb behind the wheel of the BMW M340i and M240i. Across three pulse-quickening sessions—timed laps, lead follow, and drag racing—you’ll test your reflexes, nerve, and control. It’s an adrenaline rush that matches the intensity of a tournament tee shot, and it all counts toward your score in the Monday Finish competition.
How to Register
- You must be an active TGJ Premium member to register for and attend The Monday Finish. Not yet a Premium member? Join here.
- Premium members can place reservation requests from November 5 at 9 a.m. ET to November 6 at 12 p.m. ET.
- You may request up to four spots.
- Singles are encouraged to place reservation requests.
- Entries must be paid within 24 hours of receiving the notification email to avoid forfeiting your position in the event.

Carts are available for both rounds; walking is optional.
There is no advanced driving or racing experience required but all participants must be 18 years or older with a valid U.S. drivers license. You must have your license on site to participate in the driving.

Event Registration & Waitlist Policy
TGJ Premium member events have a limited number of spots. Here’s how registration works:
How to Request a Spot
- Reservation requests open at a set time and close at the deadline.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to select your party size and enter your details.
- You must be a Premium member and logged in to your golfersjournal.com account to submit a request.
Selection & Payment
- The field is chosen by random drawing. Selected members will be notified via email or text.
- If selected, you have 24 hours to complete registration and payment.
- Failure to pay will result in automatic forfeiture of your spot.
Automatic Waitlist
- All unselected members are automatically added to the waitlist—no extra steps are needed.
- If a spot opens, a new member will be randomly selected from the waitlist.
- There is no set order to the waitlist.
- Members who miss the initial registration window are welcome to join the waitlist at anytime prior to the event.

How many spots can I purchase?
You may purchase up to four spots.
Does my guest have to be a member?
Yes, all guests must be active Premium TGJ members. The best way to bring a non-member guest is to gift them a Premium TGJ membership.
Can I bring a non-golfing guest?
You’re welcome to bring a non-golfing guest to share your accommodations; however, please note that they will not be able to participate in the golf, the driving experience, or the VIP hospitality at The American Express.
That said, your guest may be included in select meals or casual gatherings, where space allows. We’ll do our best to make them feel welcome while preserving the integrity of the core experience for registered participants.
Can I attend as a single?
Yes, almost 50% of event attendees are singles. Bring a friend or come make some new ones. Otherwise, you will be paired with another BTS member at random.
Will I be walking or riding during the event?
All groups will have golf carts provided as a part of the event fee.
Can I request to be paired with another twosome?
If you have another person or team you’d like to be grouped with, please submit the request on the Guest Details form on the Players Room following your purchase.
Are there handicap / skill requirements?
Players of all skillsets and handicaps are welcome to register. We only ask you are respectful, have fun and keep up with the group ahead of you.
There will be double-bogey max scoring in place.
We require a GHIN or other accredited handicap to participate in the NET division.
What is the cancellation policy?
All pricing is listed per person.
If you need to cancel your spot, please email us at events@golfersjournal.com.
- Refunds will be issued only if your spot is filled by another participant.
- Once filled, refunds will be processed minus a 5% processing fee.
- Inside 30 days of the event, a 10% cancellation fee will apply to filled spots.
We appreciate your understanding and support in helping us keep these events running smoothly.
