The Ideal Edinburgh Experience
This June, the Broken Tee Society travels to where golf began—to a coastline where every dune, stone wall, and seaside breeze tells the game’s oldest stories. For six days, we’ll make our home at The Marine North Berwick, a landmark hotel perched above the Firth of Forth with sweeping views of Bass Rock and the East Lothian coastline. From there, we’ll walk the same turf that has tested champions and inspired architects for centuries.
Our journey begins at The Glen, then winds through the charm of Kilspindie and Dunbar, and crescendos with a Solstice marathon—54 holes across all three courses at Gullane Golf Club—before culminating at the timeless fairways of North Berwick, the 13th oldest club in the world. Along the way, the hospitality will be on the same level as the golf: oceanfront lodging, curated group dinners, and private transfers between every course.
This is no sightseeing trip—it’s a pilgrimage through golf’s sacred ground, where every round feels like a step back in time and a dream come true. And who better to lead our pilgrimage than A Course Called Scotland author Tom Coyne?

Trip Itinerary
Saturday, June 20
Arrival & The Glen
Touch down in Edinburgh and meet your driver from St. Andrews Executive Travel for the scenic ride to The Marine North Berwick. Once settled, we’ll stretch our legs with a warm-up round at The Glen, a dramatic clifftop links where rugged landscapes meet panoramic sea views. It’s the perfect introduction to East Lothian’s brand of seaside golf. That evening, we’ll gather for a welcome dinner at The Marine—great food, a dram (or two), and the first of many shared stories.
Sunday, June 21
Kilspindie
Our first full day begins at Kilspindie Golf Club, often called Scotland’s hidden treasure. Set along the Firth of Forth, this charmer rewards precision over power and showcases the all the quirks that define true links golf. After the round, enjoy free time to explore North Berwick’s pubs, coastline, or the comforts of The Marine.
Monday, June 22
Solstice at Gullane
This is the kind of day for which East Lothian was made. At Gullane Golf Club, we’ll play all three of its historic courses in a Solstice marathon. From hilltop panoramas to coastal fairways, it’s a 54-hole adventure we won’t soon forget. Meals are fully included today—morning snacks, lunch between loops, and a celebratory dinner to close out the longest day of the year.
Tuesday, June 23
Dunbar
Today we head east to Dunbar Golf Club, where golf has been played since 1856. The routing, influenced by Old Tom Morris, winds along old castle walls and offers one of Scotland’s most authentic, natural links experiences. Then we’ll return to The Marine for an evening at leisure or dinner with friends overlooking the water.
Wednesday, June 24
North Berwick
No trip to Scotland is complete without North Berwick Golf Club, one of the oldest in the world and home to some of golf’s most iconic and copied holes. Take your shot over the rock wall and leave some time for pictures at this bucket list venue—the pilgrimage is now complete. That evening, we’ll gather for a farewell dinner at The Marine, to toast the trip and the turf that inspired it.
Thursday, June 25

After breakfast, check out and enjoy private transfers to Edinburgh Airport. Depart with clubs a little heavier from the salt air—and hearts full from walking the game’s original ground.
