Our First Rodeo

 Two thousand rolling acres of Texas ranch land. Whitetail deer wandering between holes. Waterfalls threading through Chet Williams’ bold 2023 design. This September, 24 BTS Premium members make their first visit to the private luxury of Big Easy Ranch in a format worthy of the setting: a 12-versus-12 Ryder Cup-style shootout across the Covey Course and the Antler Par 3. Overnight stays at the on-site lodge, a Texas-sized spread to match, and bragging rights on the line.

How to Register

  • You must be a Premium member to register and attend Big Easy Ranch. Not yet a member? Join here.
  • Premium members can place reservation requests from June 9 at 9 a.m. ET to June 10 at 9 a.m. ET. 
  • You may request up to four spots.
  • Singles are encouraged to place reservation requests.
  • Entries must be paid within 24 hours of receiving the notification email to avoid forfeiting your position in the event.

How do I register?

  • Registration opens June 9 at 9:00 AM ET and closes June 10 at 9:00 AM ET. The field is selected by random drawing.
  • You must be a Premium TGJ member and logged into golfersjournal.com to submit a reservation request. You can request up to four spots per entry.
  • If selected, you’ll have 24 hours to complete payment. If you’re not selected, you’re automatically added to the waitlist. There is no set order, and spots are filled at random.

Who can attend?

  • This event is open to Premium TGJ members only.
  • All guests in your group must also be active Premium members.
  • Singles are welcome, and roughly half of our attendees come solo. All skill levels are encouraged to register.
  • A GHIN handicap is required to compete in the NET division.

What should I know before I arrive?

  • Big Easy Ranch is located at 2400 Brunes Mill Rd, Columbus, TX 78934.
  • Big Easy Ranch is a very expansive property, Riding is recommended
  • Forecaddies are available and included in your entry fee. Gratuity is not included.
    • The recommended tip is $60 per bag for 18 holes.
  • The dress code is private club attire. No denim, no sandals, and shirts must be tucked in. Hats are not permitted inside the clubhouse. Jackets are not required at dinner.

How is the event played?

  • The format is two 12 man teams competing in a net stableford, scored through Golf Genius. Enter gross scores into golf genius for scoring.
  • Tees are as follows: Men’s – Covey Tees (6,835 yards), Seniors 60+ – Big Easy Tees (6,354 yards), and Women’s – Flush Tees (5,184 yards)
  • Forecaddies are available and included in your entry fee. Gratuity is not included.
    • The recommended tip is $60 per bag for 18 holes.

What does my entry fee cover?

  • Included:
    • Your entry covers 36+ holes of golf
      • 36 Holes at The Covey
      • The Antler Par-3 course is scheduled to open in Fall and our BTS members will be on of the first to play the new 12 hole course.
    • Forecaddie fee
    • Breakfast, lunch, dinner, a two-hour open bar during dinner
    • Golden Road beer on the course
    • Gifts from TGJ and partners
    • Awards for low net and gross and winning team.
    • Premium Lodging on Property
  • Not included:
    • Travel and transportation
    • Alcoholic beverages on the course beyond Golden Road beer and any pro shop purchases are at your own expense

What if I need to cancel?

  • Pricing is per person. Cancellations made more than 30 days before the event are subject to a 7% processing fee.
  • Cancellations made within 30 days are subject to a 15% fee and will only be refunded once the spot is filled.
  • If the spot cannot be filled, no refund will be issued.
