Chambers Bay is barely a teenager but already a seasoned host. Since opening to the public in 2007, this municipal track has hosted a pair of unforgettable USGA championships.
In 2010, Chambers’ jaw-dropping contours and scale captivated a national audience en route to Peter Uihlein becoming the first U.S. Amateur champion on a public course in 115 years.
And then there was 2015—you know, when you-know-who did you-know-what. Well, lost in all the Spieth-DJ drama was another feather in Chambers’ cap: the first Northwest venue to host a U.S. Open in—you guessed it—115 years.
And just two weeks before we arrive, the USGA will bring a third championship to the shores of Puget Sound: the 2021 U.S. Amateur Four-Ball. We like to think of it as the appetizer to the main course.
