Job Title: Digital Communications Manager

The Golfer’s Journal is a leading publication dedicated to the rich culture, history, and personalities within the world of golf. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, engaging content to our community of passionate golf enthusiasts. As we expand our digital footprint, we are looking for a Digital Communications Manager to join our dynamic team. This individual will play a crucial role in enhancing our digital presence, managing our advertising partnerships, and driving engagement through innovative digital marketing campaigns.

Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

Social Media:

  • Manage and maintain all of The Golfer’s Journal social accounts, including Instagram, X, Facebook, Youtube, Discord and LinkedIn.
    • Curate, coordinate and manage posting schedules across all social platforms
    • Create original short-form social content for a variety of mediums, including video, audio, still photography and written
    • Craft and edit compelling copy for a variety of social media needs, maintaining the brand’s voice and ensuring all communications are engaging and on-message.
    • Conceptualize social media assets
    • Track analytics and performance of social accounts, ensuring growth goals are met
    • Research and identify social media trends that can be leveraged into to on-brand, high engaging content
    • Oversee the organization and management of digital assets, including images, videos, and documents. Ensure assets are easily accessible and efficiently utilized across all social platforms
    • Triage and respond to direct messages, customer service questions and social media comments

Marketing:

  • Project Management: Lead and manage advertising partnerships, ensuring projects are delivered on time and meet our high standards of quality. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to achieve project goals.
  • Digital Asset Management: Oversee the organization and management of digital assets, including images, videos, and documents. Ensure assets are easily accessible and efficiently utilized across all digital platforms.
  • Webpage Building: Design and build engaging webpages and products within WordPress and woocommerce, ensuring they are visually appealing, user-friendly, and optimized for SEO. Collaborate with the content team to update and maintain the site’s overall aesthetic and functionality.
  • Craft compelling copy for a variety of purposes, including email campaigns, social media posts, and promotional materials. Maintain the brand’s voice and ensure all communications are engaging and on-message.
  • Presentation Building: Create impactful presentations for internal stakeholders and external partners. Present data, strategies, and progress reports in a clear and persuasive manner.

  • Email Marketing: Develop and execute email marketing campaigns designed to engage our audience, increase subscription rates, and promote The Golfer’s Journal events and offerings. Monitor performance and optimize campaigns for better results.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in digital marketing or communications, preferably within the publishing, media, or sports industries.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for persuasive copywriting.
  • Proficiency in email marketing platforms, CRM software, and digital analytics tools.
  • Ability to analyze data, derive insights and make data-driven decisions.
  • Creative thinker with a passion for golf and storytelling.
