Bump&Run: 10/3/22

It’s a PNW-heavy week, with a spot up for grabs in The Showcase @ Wing Point and a breakdown of the region’s year-long ladder challenge.

Geographical balance comes from a future St. Louis member meetup, a BTS-wide vintage club challenge, and Shane Bacon’s new children’s book!

Bump&Run is the weekly recap of our members-only Discord server.

TAKING DOWN THE LADDER

Speaking of our nation’s upper left corner, last week saw the close of our season-long Pacific Northwest Ladder Challenge. PNW Vice Captain Cody Davenport created the showdown, which saw nine participants vie for supremacy in a series of asynchronous matches across the region.

Cody doled out some honors in the thread, which we’ve included below. A hearty round of congratulations to the winners, and we’ll see you on Bainbridge Island!

Winner: Justin Kaiser
Runner Up:
Ian O’Brien

Highest Climber – This honor goes to for climbing the most spots in the ladder – from #10 to #1!

Scrappy Award – Giving this one to for the wildest record. He ended 2-4, but both his wins came in defense of his spot. He refused to get dropped!

Most Matches and I tied at 6 matches a piece (albeit there were a few against each other).

Best Record – at 5-1 this season (and a lot of defense), yours truly was ended with the best record. Low Net – This honor goes to for taking finishing the season in the highest spot on the ladder relative to handicap.

what's old is new

As if the game wasn’t challenging enough, SoCal’s Cory Olson has set up a vintage clubs score challenge for all interested participants. Ditch those space-age musclebacks, scope out a set of butter knives from the neighborhood yard sale, and join a crew hell-bent on punch-cutting their way to a target score.

Time's running out

The deadline for our year-long referral game is in sight. You have until Halloween to share your link and pick up more entries for the greatest sweepstakes in golf. The game is simple:

  • Head to your referral dashboard (linked below)
  • Copy your URL
  • Share it with your golfing tribe.

Every time someone subscribes to TGJ using your link, you’ll receive another entry into the contest. That means nothing is off the table – brothers, brothers in law, group chats, Instagram stories, graffiti on sidewalks… you get the picture.

One lucky referrer will go home with a full bag of custom-fitted Titleist clubs. That means TSRs, T-series irons, SM9 wedges, and a Scotty Cameron putter, tuned to your specs.
