Broken Tee Society Discord Server Rules

The goal of this community is to celebrate the game and relish in the friendships and connections that it creates, and to be a productive community by serving the game and the greater good. We invite all those who share this vision to join us. All we ask is that you follow these principles:

Transparency – Please introduce yourself in the Introductions channel. The Broken Tee Society thrives on trust, and we encourage everyone to share their background, specialties and interests to better foster conversations. Feel free to share your club affiliations and social media handles too.

Respect – We’re lucky to have a number of high-profile and influential individuals in our membership. We encourage you to treat everyone equally whether they’re a new member or a household name. Similarly, our high-profile members are not here to be harassed, trolled or propositioned. Please engage respectfully.

Peace of Mind – Members should feel confident to share personal anecdotes and info that they may not be comfortable sharing in public. This means what’s said in BTS stays in BTS. Please respect fellow member’s willingness to share their thoughts without them worrying that it could be shared.

Purpose – The Broken Tee Society has lofty goals: To be a productive community by serving the game and the greater good. What do we mean by this? Among our members there are many talented, prominent and creative individuals who have achieved success in a variety of different fields. It is our hope that some of that knowledge, experience and time can be applied to tackling the challenges that the game faces, to solve systemic problems and to harness our collective talents to make golf better than the way we found it. Also, we’re here to have a good time.

Assume the Best – Intent can be easily misinterpreted, especially online. Therefore we must always assume communication comes from a positive place of desire to help and connect. Escalating misinterpretations are attributed to those escalating, and those escalating could face penalties.

Responsibility -The Broken Tee Society is a largely self-policed community. This means moderators won’t actively monitor and police every message, but if your voice and vibe aren’t in good faith or don’t align with the spirit of the community you may lose access to the server.

Community – Harassment, sexism, racism, or hate speech will not be tolerated. Please do your best to keep a positive spirit and if you really aren’t getting along with someone, please address your issues in the DMs

No Advertising – No spam or self-promotion outside specified promotion channels (including server invites, advertisements, etc) without permission from a staff member. This includes DMing fellow members. If you want to showcase your work please use the Promote Your Stuff channel. If you’re looking to collaborate with other members post your job opportunities to the Classifieds channel

No Misrepresentation – Do not misrepresent yourself as someone else, a TGJ employee or an affiliated person. All TGJ employees will be appropriately tagged. Impersonating anyone can result in expulsion from the server.

Report Flagrant Violators: If you see something that violates common decency or something that makes you feel unsafe, let the staff know. We want this server to be a welcoming space! Enjoy!
